Skin tags, known to science as acrochorda, are small, harmless growths. They tend to occur in places where the skin forms creases such as the neck, armpit, groin or eyelid. These loose skin flaps or mushroom-shaped bumps are usually less a centimeter in size. They may be the same color as the skin or take on a darker shade.
